Kojin Nakakita Appointed as Chairman of Hitachi India Pvt. Ltd.

 

Delhi, February 20, 2017 --- Hitachi India Pvt. Ltd. today announced the appointment of Mr. Kojin Nakakita as the Chairman of Hitachi India Pvt. Ltd. He will also concurrently been appointed as Chairman of Hitachi Asia Ltd. The new appointments will be effective from 1st April 2017. Mr. Nakakita will continue to serve as Managing Director of Hitachi India Pvt. Ltd.

He succeeds Mr. Ichiro Iino, who is returning to Japan to assume the post of Vice President and Executive Officer, Hitachi Transport System, Ltd.

"I am honoured to take on the roles of Chairman of Hitachi India Pvt. Ltd.," said Mr. Nakakita. "India is one of the focus areas of growth for Hitachi. In particular, the emerging markets show tremendous potential. I am already working very closely on increasing business opportunities. There is a lot that Hitachi can contribute to improving India's economic growth and quality of life through our Social Innovation Business."

After graduating from the United States International University in 1988, Mr. Nakakita joined Hitachi's Heavy Industry Department, Headquarters Sales Office. He possesses a strong background in social infrastructure business development, particularly in the water treatment, smart cities and heavy industry equipment industries. India presents various challenges and opportunities in these industries. Mr. Nakakita's strong understanding and long experience in these fields will allow him to make decisions to propel Hitachi India and steer the company's infrastructure business in India.
