After the phenomenal success of the Delhi event; Hitachi and NDTV partnered yet again for Social Innovations for Future- Solutions for India held in Mumbai on February 16th, 2015.
The event in Mumbai focused on the prevailing issues and solutions provided by Hitachi in the field of Infrastructure and Information Technology.
The Forum was aimed at discussing on how Hitachi can partner with the Indian society and offer its technological support in the areas of Smart Cities, Water, Big Data & Cloud Computing and Financial Inclusion.

The session on Water explored challenges arising out of shortage of water. It also probed the rising need for technology and policy for revenue maximization, equitable distribution and availability. As well as discussed the growing necessity for creating an infrastructure that is future ready and delivers clean, potable, reliable and on-demand drinking water to every citizen of India.

The objective of the session on Big Data was to investigate the use of big data to ensure Public safety in smart communities for better communication, situational awareness and to decrease response times. It also delved into how Big Data can be beneficial for perimeter, transport and city security by allowing access to authorities. The panel discussion also examined the importance of cloud and the privacy concerns that come with it.

This panel discussion was an effort to identify the most effective methods that will lead to the financial inclusion in the shortest time possible. It outlined the technology mix comprising hardware and software for the telecom and retail industries to make this roll-out more efficient and faster in terms of both time and money. The panel discussions held during the forum identified the prevalent issues existing with the system pertaining to Urban Transportation, Healthcare, Infrastructure and IT; and how Hitachi as a private player can work hand in hand with the government and work to bring innovative and sustainable solutions for our future generations. The event also showcased Hitachi's diversification in the field of infra and IT by displaying information on the technology that Hitachi can offer to overcome the present challenges.
