Hitachi looks forward to integrate IT with India's infrastructure needs, and contribute and respond to issues plaguing the IT sector. Hitachi is also working on connecting different infrastructure systems like energy, water and transportation to help people share resources and respond effectively to the needs of the society.

The Hitachi Group in partnership with NDTV held the Hitachi Social Innovation Forum 2015 in Bengaluru on August 19th, 2015. The forum introduced customers and partners to Hitachi Group’s vision of making India digitally self-reliant. Industry experts and Indian authorities came together to discuss the growing importance of integrating information technologies with infrastructure needs. The panel also discussed ways to contribute and respond to issues in the Indian IT sector.

A number of sessions were held to discuss India’s digital transformation and other related aspects.

  • A very insightful session saw panelists discussing the role of technology in improving the lives of people. The audience was enlightened about the current gaps in healthcare in India, and how technology can help overcome these while making healthcare affordable and accessible to all. This was followed by Dr. Rathan Kelkar sharing the Government’s stance on e-Governance. He spoke on how Government plans to reach out to the people and provide services at a touch of the button.

  • The panel comprising some of the brightest minds from various domains, emphasized on how technology in enterprise sector is changing the landscape through social innovation. The panel session also delved on ways to adapt new technologies which could lead to improvement in the lives of people.

  • An information rich session saw panelists speak about digital disruptions and security solutions. The ever changing security landscape and role of information security were discussed. And, the panel also deliberated on the policies and controls that should be deployed to protect data, applications and infrastructure of cloud computing.
