At Hitachi, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an important milestone for realizing a sustainable society and improving the lives of millions through solving social and environmental issues. We are contributing to achieving the SDGs through our Social Innovation Business (SIB), which also serves as a source of sustainable growth for us.
Hitachi examined the relationship between the SDGs and the risks and opportunities posed by its business and identified 13 goals as Hitachi’s Priority SDGs.
Given that all SDGs are mutually related, Hitachi endeavors to contribute to the achievement of all 17 SDGs, both directly and indirectly. Since Hitachi is active in a broad range of business sectors, we envision that by proactively responding to social issues, we can contribute to the achievement of all SDGs through responsible corporate conduct and the SIB model.
Sustainability lies at the core and purpose of all Hitachi endeavors. Under the Mid-term Management Plan 2024, we have outlined 13 SDGs where we believe we can have direct impact on and contribute towards realizing a sustainable society.
